La capacitat de\u00a0produir pantalles cada vegada m\u00e9s fines\u00a0i flexibles ha estat possible gr\u00e0cies a la\u00a0utilitzaci\u00f3 de nous materials que emeten\u00a0llum de diferents longituds d\u2019ona (blau,\u00a0vermell, groc o verd) quan se\u2019ls aplica\u00a0corrent el\u00e8ctric. Aquesta nova tecnologia\u00a0es coneix com OLED (<i>Organic Light-Emitting\u00a0<\/i><i>Diodes<\/i>) i es basa en l\u2019\u00fas de materials\u00a0polim\u00e8rics flexibles que permeten conduir\u00a0l\u2019electricitat, i compostos org\u00e0nics que\u00a0permeten l\u2019emissi\u00f3 de llum per generar\u00a0les imatges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Un exemple dels pol\u00edmers utilitzats \u00e9s el\u00a0graf\u00e8. Aquest material, flexible i transparent,\u00a0est\u00e0 format per anells de benz\u00e8\u00a0fusionats disposats com un rusc d\u2019abelles.\u00a0D\u2019aquesta manera, els electrons dels\u00a0\u00e0toms de carboni es poden deslocalitzar\u00a0per tota la superf\u00edcie polim\u00e8rica i conduir\u00a0l\u2019electricitat per tota l\u2019estructura. A\u00a0m\u00e9s de tenir un suport flexible, cal que\u00a0el corrent activi els p\u00edxels de la pantalla\u00a0i es generi llum per formar les diferents\u00a0imatges.
